From April 1st I've started a one hundred day training session, which simply means that I have to do a scheduled session of Taijiquan everyday for 1.5 hours. Doing one hundred days is part of the Chinese martial arts and traditional medicine culture, and the toughest part for most guys is the part where you have to avoid sex for the whole period.
All is going well so far, but it's early days yet; many things could come along during those three months or so that could screw up my plan. But with careful weekly planning it should be doable.
Wish me luck!

Cheers guys for the support, no doubt some days I'll need it!
good luck, Ralph! I must admit, I have tried this a couple of times in the past but have been unsuccessful. Perhaps this is yet another reason for me to give it a shot again!
Well I don't know that I'll be successful yet. My advice is prepare well don't just jump in.
Good luck Ralph. Some of us just finished the 2009 Lenten Challenge (some of us are still going too!), which was a worthy endeavor, but not nearly 100 days.
Hi Rick
Tanks for the comment. What's the 2009 Lenten Challenge? I want to know more.
Ha! The 2009 Lenten Challenge is a typo. I meant to write that some of us finished the 2008 Lenten Challenge, training everyday from Ash Wednesday through Easter.
Sounds like a hard row to hoe. I heard somewhere that avoiding sex is not enough, you must avoid ejaculation; and avoiding ejaculation is not enough, you must conserve jing (which is a superset and requires mental discipline).
Hi Chris
You are right the mental discipline is the hardest, but we have to be realistic and develop the skills over a few years. The worst thing I believe is to think that it's OK to just have full sex, but without ejaculation. As I understand it this is a useless method as there is little mind control involved. The best way is to avoid getting 'hot' in the first place. ;-)
For now just managing the 100 days will be fine for me. And remember my wife has to do it too. It'll be easier for us both next time round. If it works out this time I may decide to do it once a year.
So how is it going?
Some days good some days not so good, but still going...day 35 today.
You're more than half way there!
